Hey everybody, it's me, Health Coach Kristin.
I am so excited to be here with you guys today.
Welcome to the Common Sense Nutrition Podcast.
I have a couple of really big announcements for you guys.
Really really excited.
I'm going to go ahead and launch right into a conversation with Health Coach Gina for
our big announcement.
Hey everybody, it's me, Health Coach Kristin, and I'm here with Health Coach Gina, and we
have a really exciting announcement we've been waiting a really long time to announce.
I'm so excited.
Gina and I, we've been hinting at this and telling everybody for months and months, it's
coming, it's coming, it's coming.
And it's finally here.
Our book is finally done.
It has launched and it is available for purchase.
We're so excited.
We just wanted to do a podcast to share that announcement with everybody and tell everybody
a little bit about the book and what it is.
So exciting.
We're published authors.
I know.
Can you believe it?
The weirdest part was getting that paper copy in my hand.
That was like all of a sudden it got real.
It was very, very surreal holding our own copy and just looking at the book and seeing
our names on a book, right?
So we have been talking about this book for quite a while, for about two years, really.
And when we originally decided that we were going to do it and the topics that we were
writing, we were kind of calling it a playbook at that point, right?
It was a game plan or a playbook or something like that.
And we were hanging up on, what are we going to name this book?
What are we going to name this book?
We didn't have all our topics, all our subjects that we want to cover in it for each of the
chapters, but what are we going to call it?
And then we just started talking one day about what was going on in the world with everybody
running around frantic that I need vitamin A, I need vitamin C, I need zinc, whatever
zinc.
Yeah, I need zinc and D and all these things that we need, need, need in case we get sick,
right?
In case we get sick.
And we just got to the point that we were like, we wish everybody would just stop chasing
wellness and we stopped, wait a minute, that's it, that's the name of the book.
So Stop Chasing Wellness was born and we really are focusing on stop chasing it, just be proactive
with your health.
And the book has the pillars or the fundamentals on how to build a healthy body and what it
takes.
And it's not just food, it's not just exercise, there's more to it.
It's just being well-balanced in so many areas and that's what we talk about in the book.
Yeah, I love that light bulb moment we had when we were, I was like, oh my God, that's
what we're going to call it.
And it's called Stop Chasing Wellness, Create It, it's like the subtitle, Stop Chasing Wellness,
Create It, because it really is an interactive book.
We share the pillars of, as health coaches, what we teach people in order to build wellness.
And then we give you some action steps in each chapter that you can actually do like
as though you were sitting and working with us as coaches, what would we tell you as a
coach?
We wanted it to be something like, we didn't want it to just be an information vomit, but
between here's the information dump, it was more like, what would we tell you if we were
sitting right here in front of us?
What would we ask you?
What questions would we ask you?
What would we have you writing down and journaling and doing and being proactive?
So it really is a roadmap to helping people create wellness for whatever that looks like
for them.
Right.
And what it looks like for us, because not only do we have those questions and talking
points and coaching areas at the end of each of the chapters, we also break it down even
further and how you as a woman, a wife, a mother, me as the same as a woman, and how
are we incorporating these habits into our own lives?
Where's it harder for us?
Where's it fall in line and pretty smoothly for us?
Yeah.
So our thoughts at the end of each chapter, I think that we wanted to share how it was
relatable for each of us as individuals and where, I guess, where our credibility for
writing those different pillars came into play, because we have walked down every one
of these chapters ourselves in our own lives and have experience, whether it's with ourselves
or with clients that we've coached or family or friends.
So yeah, I'm really proud of it.
I love the book.
And it's funny.
Are you reading through it and reading through it like I've never read it before, even though
I've read it a thousand times, I can recite the book from chapter to chapter, but as I
read through it, I'm, I am really proud of what we put together.
And I think it's, I'm just, I'm thankful to you because you were the one who said, I think
we should write a book.
And I remember at the time thinking, I remember saying yes right away, but also feeling like
who the heck are we to write a book and what am I going to write a book about, but we did
it.
It just all came together.
It did.
We just sat in it and did our meetings and put it together.
And I'm really proud of what we put together.
And I know that it's a, it's a great book.
It's an easy read and it's stuff that really it's going to impact the health of the people
that read it.
And I'm proud of that.
Absolutely.
I love that.
It's all good stuff.
So some of the, yeah, like I get, let's just give a quick little highlight of some of the
things that we talk about in the book.
We're talking about, um, bio-individuality, how every single person is different.
Everyone's unique.
And we honor that throughout the book.
Like this is not a postage stamp book where it's a one size fits all.
And I think that's important.
It's kind of like, everybody can relate to stuff in this book, we, we review your nutritional
building blocks of your macro nutrition, your protein, your fats, and your carbohydrates,
or sharing information about what you don't want in your pantry and then what you do want
in your pantry.
So what do you, what are the things we want to avoid?
And then what are the things we want to replace that with?
Um, we did a really in-depth chapter.
I think we both put a lot of work into the chapter that we help people with meal planning
and prepping.
That was a hard one because that's a very complex and diverse chapter that everybody's
going to do that part of it different.
But we tried to put it together in a way that everybody could relate to.
And what else we talk about, rhythm, go ahead, grocery shopping, how to navigate the grocery
store.
Yes.
Everybody knows how to get around a grocery store and do it in the most healthy way possible.
So we talk about that in the chapter.
Yes.
I had a conversation over the weekend about that with a friend.
So we have a section where we talk about your, the importance of gut health, your bone level
of acidic acidity.
I'm trying, I'm stumbling over that for a second.
How acidic your body is.
The balance in our body, where we want to be in order to be healthy, disease lives in
an acidic environment.
It's hard to say.
Touch on intermittent fasting.
We talk about exercise and moving your body.
We're talking about how hydration, caffeine and alcohol, meditation and mindfulness, how
important sleep is.
I just, I think all of these are really great pillars and we do have some recipes that we
touched on and those are all in the book as well.
So I'm really excited about this, Jean.
And I think it would be a really great Christmas gift for people to buy for other people as
well.
There you go.
I do too.
Yes.
I know a few people I will be gifting it to as well.
So for myself, so, um, will you mention our website so people know where to go to purchase
it?
Absolutely.
Check out stopchasingwellness.com, which is our very own website for our very own book
and then starting in January, we are going to also launch some online wellness coaching
programs that you'll be able to purchase for download and kind of do these programs at
your own pace.
And we're going to start with just a few things and we'll be building and adding onto that
as we go.
So there'll be kind of content that'll continue to build and grow and kind of suit more customizable
and more specified needs, um, as people have those going forward, but, um, the content
should be up there, I think in December.
So keep an eye on stopchasingwellness.com, but definitely, you know, everybody has a
plan in January when the holidays are over, everybody's like, Oh my God, I feel so gross.
I need a change.
I'm going to do this program or that program, but we really want you guys to, we want to
be at the top of your mind for whatever your plan is going into next year.
And we would be honored and flattered to help guide you guys through making those changes
to your health next year.
So you can stop chasing wellness and create it.

All right, everybody, one last and final announcement.
I'm really, really excited about this one last big change.
You're going to notice that this podcast has gone from common sense nutrition podcast.
Now we are officially renaming it to stop chasing wellness podcast.
Common sense nutrition was the name of my business and the name that I've been using
over the years as I've worked independently as a health coach.
And Gina has also had her own wellness business and her own website, but as we've worked together
and we are building stop chasing wellness, we want everything to go together.
We want all of the branding to be cohesive so that everybody has that brand and name
recognition, especially as we head into the beginning of 2023 and we are launching and
offering our online wellness coaching programs.
So this podcast will from here on out be known as the stop chasing wellness podcast.
So Gina and I look forward to offering some content to you guys as we go forward in this
name.
So all of the old podcasts that were done under the name of common sense nutrition are
still available here, but the name of the podcast has changed just like I said, so everything
can be cohesive and go together.

We're super excited to be sharing all of this new stuff with you guys.
